Hormone Testing for a Deeper Look at your Reproductive Health

We love this company! Modern Fertility is a women’s health company empowering women with knowledge of their reproductive health through a comprehensive at home hormone test at a fraction of the normal cost.

This National Infertility Awareness Week, we’d like to re-introduce you to your hormones. Whether you are years away from kids, thinking about them soon, currently trying to conceive, or planning for your next one, understanding your hormones is important for your reproductive health and overall wellbeing. At Blue Ova we recommend all our clients get their labs retested every 9-12 months to give us a fuller picture of their fertility, when combine with our Eastern view.

Curious about what your hormones could tell you? Read on!

  • Your general health. Hormones are a window into your broader health. Knowing your thyroid and testosterone levels can give you a more holistic picture of fertility.

  • The health of your thyroid. Your thyroid can impact a lot of things—whether or not you ovulate regularly, your mood, skin, weight, even how tired or hungry you feel.

  • If you have more or fewer eggs than average for your age. The number of eggs you have is called your ovarian reserve and you can use the hormone AMH to measure it.

  • Egg freezing or IVF outcomes. Reproductive Endocrinologists use ovarian reserve hormone testing (specifically AMH, FSH, and E2) to determine success rates for egg freezing and IVF.

  • Risk factors for PCOS. 1 in 10 women have PCOS. AMH and Testosterone can play a role in detecting PCOS.

  • If you’ll hit menopause earlier or later than average. Your menopause age impacts your fertility window.

Because we believe that more information is power, we’ve partnered with Modern Fertility  to offer you a comprehensive fertility hormone test that you can take at home. Depending on your insurance coverage, this same test offered in your OBGYN’s office can cost up to $1,500. By comparison, Modern Fertility’s test is $159. And in honor of Infertility Awareness Week, you can get a $15 credit towards the Modern Fertility test just for this week!
